Default Behavior
Atdisk is a kernel device driver. In Windows XP it is disabled and isn't loading or starting. If the Atdisk fails to load or initialize, Windows XP start up proceeds without error messages, but information about the failure is being written into Event Log.
Restore Default Startup Configuration of Atdisk
1. Run the Command Prompt.
2. Copy the commands below, paste them into the command window and press ENTER:
sc stop Atdisk
sc config Atdisk start= disabled
3. Close the command window and restart the computer.
