SBP-2 Protocol Driver by Microsoft Corporation.

Default Settings

Startup type:Manual
Display name:Sbp2port
Service name:sbp2port
Service type:kernel
Error control:normal
Registry key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\sbp2port

Default Behavior

Sbp2port is a kernel device driver. In Windows 7 it won't be started if the user doesn't start it. If Sbp2port fails to start, Windows 7 attempts to write the failure details into Event Log. Then Windows 7 startup should proceed and the user should be notified that the sbp2port service is not running because of the error.

Restore Default Startup Configuration for Sbp2port

1. Run the Command Prompt as an administrator.

2. Copy the command below, paste it into the command window and press ENTER:

sc config sbp2port start= demand

3. Close the command window and restart the computer.

The sbp2port service is using the sbp2port.sys file that is located in the %WinDir%\system32\DRIVERS folder. If the file is changed, damaged or deleted, you can restore its original version from Windows 7 installation media.
